Accredited Film Festivals
The Elite Festivals Directory will feature film festivals recognised through the Gold Reel Star Rating System.
Each accredited festival will have demonstrated professionalism, transparency and meaningful value for filmmakers across the three core evaluation areas:
• Film Festival Excellence
• Transparency
• Benefits to Submitters
Festivals listed within the directory will have successfully completed the Elite Festivals evaluation process for the 2026 accreditation cycle.
2026 Evaluation Cycle
Elite Festivals is currently conducting its 2026 evaluation programme, reviewing film festivals from around the world that demonstrate strong organisational standards and a commitment to supporting filmmakers.
The first group of accredited festivals for the 2026 Elite Festivals Gold Reel Star Ratings will be announced following completion of the evaluation process.
Once confirmed, accredited festivals will be listed within the Elite Festivals Directory together with their Gold Reel Star recognition level.
Elite Reference Festivals
Elite Festivals also recognises a number of internationally respected film festivals that represent benchmarks of excellence within the global film industry.
These festivals are not evaluated through the Elite Festivals programme but serve as reference examples of excellence within the international festival landscape.

• Cannes Film Festival
• Toronto International Film Festival
• Berlin International Film Festival
• Venice Film Festival
Invitation for Festival Evaluation
Film festivals may be invited or apply for consideration as part of the 2026 Elite Festivals evaluation programme.
Festivals awarded Gold Reel Star recognition will be listed within the Elite Festivals Directory and may display their official Gold Reel Star Rating badge as a mark of professional recognition.

The Elite Festivals Directory will grow to become a trusted resource for filmmakers seeking festivals that demonstrate professionalism, transparency and genuine opportunities for the filmmaking community.
Through the Gold Reel Star Rating System, Elite Festivals aims to highlight and promote festivals that contribute positively to the global film festival ecosystem.
