2026 Elite Festivals Accreditation Programme
Film festivals may apply to be considered for recognition within the Elite Festivals Gold Reel Star Rating System as part of the 2026 evaluation cycle.
Elite Festivals recognises festivals that demonstrate professionalism, transparency and meaningful support for filmmakers. Festivals awarded Gold Reel Star recognition represent a trusted and respected part of the international film festival landscape.
Applications for the 2026 accreditation programme are now open to festival organisers seeking independent recognition of their festival standards.
Who Can Apply
Film festivals from around the world may apply for evaluation provided they demonstrate a clear organisational structure and operate with professional standards.
Eligible festivals typically demonstrate:
• Clearly published submission guidelines
• Transparent judging processes
• Professional communication with filmmakers
• A structured awards or selection programme
• A commitment to supporting filmmakers and their work
Applications may be submitted by festival directors, organisers or authorised representatives of the festival.
The Evaluation Process
Festivals applying for the 2026 Elite Festivals accreditation programme will be reviewed against the three core evaluation areas:
• Film Festival Excellence
• Transparency
• Benefits to Submitters
Following evaluation, eligible festivals may be awarded:
⭐ One Gold Reel Star – Recognised Festival
⭐⭐ Two Gold Reel Stars – Outstanding Festival
⭐⭐⭐ Gold Reel Distinction – The highest level of recognition
Festivals awarded Gold Reel Star recognition will be listed within the Elite Festivals Directory and may display their official accreditation badge.
Evaluation Fee
A one-time evaluation fee applies to festivals submitting for consideration within the 2026 accreditation cycle.
This fee covers the independent review and assessment of the festival within the Elite Festivals framework.

Invitation and Selection
In addition to open applications, Elite Festivals may also invite selected festivals for evaluation based on industry presence, reputation and organisational standards.
Invited festivals will be reviewed as part of the 2026 accreditation programme.
